Care & Maintenance Tips
Whether you place your furniture indoors, under a covered porch patio or in the yard, if you would like to maintain the original rich look of our garden furniture, we do recommend a stain/sealer. We use Wolman F & P Exterior Wood Finish & Preservative. Should you choose to apply stain/sealer at home, there are many stain/sealer products available at your local hardware store or home center. Most stain products vary in natural colors such as clear, honey, cedar, redwood, etc. In addition there are many decorator colors, such as white, red, green, yellow etc. available also.

The clear products are great if you are not looking to change the natural wood tone. We prefer a little darker tint since the darker tones are more helpful in maintaining the original look despite wear from UV sunrays or body oils.

Left unstained, our wood products will weather (outdoors) to a fine silver gray patina within a couple of years. You can enjoy the natural graying or protect them with a quality sealer when they reach the stage of weathering you prefer.

The amount of stain/sealer used will depend on how you apply it and your own personal taste. We recommend at least two coats of stain/sealer.

If painting, please be sure to apply a primer to this item for best results. This allows for the addition of vibrant colors to match any outdoor or indoor décor.

For the longest lasting protection, we recommend reapplying the same stain/sealer or paint every 2-3 years or as needed.

We recommend that you tighten the hardware on all products periodically.

It is recommended that you cover your products, to protect from harsh elements. See our Outdoor Covers for more information.
