Fluted Columns are very popular to add an elegant Roman look to modern structures. Interestingly enough, the idea originated with the Greeks, as their earliest columns were made out of wooden tree trunks that obtained vertical gouges during the process of shaving the bark off the trunks. When they began to build stone temples, they copied the gouges from the wood because it made the columns look skinnier and taller.

Our 6" (diameter) fluted columns are seamless vinyl over a sturdy 4x4 treated pine center for strength.

Note: Our Elongated Hexagon Gazebo and Poolside Pool Houses that are 16' long or longer, use three columns on the front corners and three columns on the back corners, as shown at left. Smaller gazebos and pool houses have one post at each corner.
