The 5" x 5" Straight Posts measure just under 5 ⅜" square. We plane and sand each post, and also round the edges to reduce the chance of splintering. Left unfinished, the posts will turn to a beautiful aged gray patina over time. Additionally, we offer an optional stain feature that can be applied to the pergola to keep your structure looking new for years to come. Be sure to ask your Project Advisor about all our stain options!

The standard head clearance of an 8' post is approximately 89" for surface mounted pergolas. If you require taller or heavier posts, please select from the options on the side, or talk to your Project Advisor.

Although the finished product looks like a solid piece of lumber, our posts are actually produced by gluing four #1 KDAT treated lumber 2x6's together. Then the posts are planed and sanded until the seams are virtually invisible. This process makes our posts even stronger than a solid 6x6 piece of lumber.
