Warranty Overview


Fifthroom.com Limited Lifetime Warranty certifies that our structures are free of manufacturing and/or material defects for the life of product as owned by the original purchaser. The Limited Lifetime Warranty is non-transferable. This warranty applies to the structure under normal use, defined as residential or private occupancy, and is subject to the conditions and limitations herein listed.
 
Fifthroom.com liability under this warranty shall be limited to the repair or replacement of the non-conforming goods or parts, at the discretion of Fifthroom.com. Claimants may receive replacement part(s), or a credit equal to the original price or fair market value, whichever is lower, of any material determined to be defective.
 
This warranty covers only those manufacturing and material defects specified herein and does not include defects attributable to improper installation, abnormal use, improper/negligent maintenance and normal weathering. This warranty expressly does not cover defects caused by accident, fire, flood, acts of God, vandalism, riot or civil disorder, ground settlement, stresses resulting from localized heat, or other occurrences beyond normal control.
 
This warranty shall be null and void if harmful solvents are used to clean the structure or are applied to components. No outside material or aftermarket products applied to the structure will be covered under this warranty. Such aftermarket products may include, but are not limited to, weather-vanes, shingles not purchased from Fifthroom.com, and lighting fixtures.
 
This warranty assumes reasonable care and preservation of the product, including but not limited to, tri-annual application of industry accepted stain and sealer product where applicable, continued foundation maintenance and shingle repair. Negligence or improper maintenance is cause for refusal of claim and nullification of this warranty.
 
Specific Material Warranties:
 
Pressure Treated Pine: All pressure treated wood components will resist rot/decay, fungus, and insect damage, and are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty, separate from Fifthroom, for the life of the structure as owned by the original purchaser. The manufacturer shall be responsible for the replacement, repair, or damage resulting from defective treated pine components which succumb to rot or insect damage. Fifthroom will assist the original purchaser with claims regarding substandard Pressure Treated Pine.
 
Please remember that all wood, when left unstained or unsealed, will weather to gray. It will also dry out over time, which will naturally result in the appearance of small cracks, or “checks,” which will not affect the structural integrity of the structure.
 
VINYL: Our vinyl structures incorporate a smooth, heavy resin covered PVC sleeve over treated pine posts, rails, and braces. The supplied vinyl is guaranteed never to fade, yellow, or crack and is covered by a manufacturer’s warranty, separate from Fifthroom, for the life of the structure as owned by the original purchaser. Fifthroom will assist the original purchaser with claims regarding substandard or defective vinyl components.
 
Cedar: Due to the highly variable nature of cedar, Fifthroom cannot make any claims, warranties, or guarantees regarding cedar components beyond three years or state specified minimum lengths of time for Limited Lifetime Warranties, at time of purchase. Experience and accepted norms suggest Cedar wood components will last 30 or more years with casual maintenance.
 
SCREENS – The screen frames are warranted for a period of three years from date of delivery against defects or premature wearing. Fifthroom does not warranty the actual screen material. For screen warranty claims outside the specified parameters, at its discretion, Fifthroom may replace the screen panel, provide a credit for the owner to purchase a screen repair kit at a local hardware store, or make available to the purchaser the opportunity to purchase, at manufacturer cost, additional screen panels. This warranty specifically does not cover screens damaged in storms or through trauma.
 
DOORS/WINDOWS – The moving parts shall be warranted for a period of one year from date of delivery. Claims may be resolved through replacement parts or a credit to purchase replacement parts, at the discretion of Fifthroom. Fifthroom will not provide labor or cover labor costs associated with Door/Window repair.
 
COMPOSITE FLOORING/DECKING – Covered by a manufacturer’s warranty, separate from Fifthroom. The composite decking is guaranteed to be (i) free from defects in material and manufacture and, (ii) when used for its intended purpose and properly installed and maintained to (a) resist rot or fungal decay and (b) resist damage caused by insect or termite attacks. For every year after the first year, any warranty payment described above shall be reduced by 2% each year until the fiftieth year, after which the warranty payment shall remain constant at 2% of the original warranty coverage.
 
This warranty covers our composite decking replacement components only, and does not cover installation or replacement labor or any additional costs which might be incurred.
 
In the event that Fifthroom must make repairs to complete a warranty claim stemming from work done on-site by representatives of employees of Fifthroom, Fifthroom reserves the right to hire local workers or professionals. The work will be completed at the earliest convenience of Fifthroom with respect to weather and availability.
 
Fifthroom will warranty discontinued products for a period of three years after cessation of production or until the conclusion of manufacturer support, whichever is longer.
 
Fifthroom shall not be responsible for any incidental or consequential damages which may result from actions in breach of this warranty.
