Great Addition for my yard

When my 20= year bridge in my garden proved to be rotten, I I ordered the above bridge. It came in the exact time stated. Every piece of wood and hardware was included as stated. Instructions were clear, and the old bridge was removed and the new one installed in one day. I couldn't be more pleased, and everyone who has entered the yard has commented on how nice it looks. The only thing we added was two capstone blocks at each end to help level it a bit and keep it removed from the dirt somewhat - hopefully to extend its life!

The people at Fifthroom were so nice to deal with and so helpful in making some final decisions on the size of the bridge and other various questions I hd. I felt they were certainly as concerned about my happiness with their product as they were the sale of it, which is the way it should be but is not always so.

Well Made Strong Bridge

All in all I was pleased with the wood quality and sizing vs other bridges I purchased that haven't lasted. You can tell it was real wood cut as normal widths and thickness. Pieces were well cut and didn't have any issues with them fitting together following the directions. I was short some bolt hardware to connect the ending cross bars (while having twice as many wood screws for the slats I needed) but a trip to Lowes and I was able to purchase the extra I needed.

Very heavy boxes and came in 3 packs which was fine. Did take 3 weeks to ship but I knew that when I ordered it and communication of shipment and status was good.

Move Over. Monet!

I love my new white cedar arched bridge. It came in two boxes, was not too difficult to assemble, and looks great on my wooded property. Reminds me of Monet’s painting of an arched bridge.

Wonderful!

The bridge I ordered for my client is beautiful! It is the 8' Treated Pine Fiore Plank Garden Bridge, stained and with the stainless steel hardware. It came in two packages, and the crew put it together and installed it in very little time. It is sturdy and very attractive

Great bridge - exactly as advertised

We got our 12ft Red Cedar Eden Half Picket Rail Bridge in less than 2 weeks. Everything arrived in good shape and it took about 4-5 hours to build with basic tools. We had it pre-stained and it looks great. We are very happy with it.

Love My Bridge

Love my bridge. Easy to put together. Had to pre-drill certain places because the screws wouldn't go through knots and stripped screw heads but had plenty of screws to do the job.

solid bridge

I am pretty happy with the bridge. It took two of us about 3 hours to fully assemble and position. Clean lines and pretty appearance. The only thing I did not like are those darn square screws. I hate those. I prefer the torx or star-head screws since they don't strip.

Great bridge.

Everything needed was in the well packaged box. I stained and sealed it myself to save some cost. Also did not use the pickets although I could put them on if wanted. All pieces fit perfectly and it only took a couple of hours to assemble

Beautiful sturdy bridge

It took 2 of us to assemble the bridge in approximately two hours. The stain went on beautifully! All hardware matched up. Only ran into one problem...the curved piece of the railing did not want to fit so we had to do a little sanding. All’s well!

Perfect

We needed a bridge to cross a ditch in front of our house to more easily access our mailbox. This was the perfect fit. We stained it before assembly, and assembly was a breeze. Value wise, I probably would have spent the same if not more by purchasing lumber and cutting it all to shape and size.

Not Just for Pedistrians

I purchased this bridge in order to move my lawn tractor across my "creek" easily. Having previously purchased a walk on bridge, I had a good idea of the quality of the product. When it arrived and I started assembly, I found that the cross braces were not the ones for my particular bridge. I called customer service and received great service, information offer to ship the correct parts and alternatives. I opted for an alternative and Fifthroom promptly gave me a credit to do the local fix. Assembly was easy - really easy since I had my college grandson to help. It's done, in place and has been tested with the lawn tractor. Exactly what I needed.

We LOVE the quality and finish of our Bridge. Was EASY to assemble - always an important feature!We did a prime coat, then 2 coats of semi-gloss paint to match the wood on our house. It looks AWESOME!!We then installed POST CAP SOLAR LIGHTS on the end posts. WOW! Our "dry-creek-bed was just BEGGING for a foot bridge,and this surpasses anything we had envisioned.And the whole neighborhood LOVES IT!!!

Great Addition To Our Pool

Cute little bridge added a whimsical touch to our pool. It also functions as a way for Oscar (our cat) to traverse over the waterfall from the spa to the pool.I had to adapt it slightly to make it a tight fit but it worked perfectly. A little Caribbean blue paint, a couple of solar lights and it was perfect.See photos

Best Bridge Ever !!!

I purchased this bridge for my backyard as I was landscaping with a western theme and I thought it would fit in. Well, it looks better than GREAT!! I can't explain how much it adds to my landscape except to say it "completes" the look I was going for. The bridge is very well made and exactly what I expected. I am not young and needed hand rails while traversing it and they work perfectly. The price was a little more than i wanted to spend, but I am so glad I went ahead with the purchase as it is well worth the cost.

Rope Bridge

I love my little bridge. It's only 10' long and 2' wide but I wanted it to be small to go over a small stream I created that goes to a small waterfall and goldfish pond. It is a viewing bridge to look at the pond. Stained it to match my house stain-a blue gray and it went together wonderfully simply.

Just what we were looking for

We are very pleased with our 4'x14'. Footbridge. The ordering process was painless, the delivery was helped by a positive attitude truck driver, plus lift gate. Things went well with moving to the backyard, and construction began. In two days time we had concrete abutments,and full assembly of the bridge, in place. Our landscape company was apprehensive having never installed a footbridge. They were very proud of the outcome, as were we. We stained it in a couple hours time Sherwin Williams mountain ash. Perfect!

The stainless steel hardware was perhaps an unnecessary expense of 200.00. It proved to be soft, easily broken. I would recommend zinc hardware, purchased locally instead. Take the included hardware and match at hardware store. Only complaint....love our footbridge!

12' Cedar Bridge is perfect!

I'm always a bit hesitant to purchased something this expensive over the internet sight unseen but had few options locally. I talked to customer service about my project and interests in this particular bridge and my confidence was restored so I bought it. The bridge was packaged in several cartons and arrived in perfect condition. Instructions and all hardware were easy to identify/read and assemble taking less than two hours. While the cedar itself seemed "lighter in weight" than I'd expected, it functions well and takes the weight of large adults with no problems as far as sagging etc. The only concern I had at first was the center joint area of the two runners on each side which are held together with a "light 2 x 6" and lag bolts. I wish they were a bit more hefty. The bridge is gorgeous and fit perfectly into my water feature and has so far taken a Midwestern winter well. I actually think as the bridge weathers a bit that cedar patina will add significant character to the bridge.

Well crafted Bridge

I am very pleased with both the high quality of construction of my new bridge, as well as it's appearance. This replaces one of inferior quality that certainly did not pass the test of time & had required routine maintenance for appearance as well as protection of material.I am looking forward to many years of service, without the hassle of renewing the finish, as needed by the old. The new bridge is a very sturdy & useful bridge, capable of bearing weight in a solid feeling manner.

It would be very helpful to have had predrilled pilot holes for the bridge posts.Drilling pilot holes on a bridge over water is not as easy as it sounds.While the position of the center posts were marked, I was left guessing as to the placement of the end posts.I thought that your directions were not particularly good especially in light of any useful help with the aforementioned posts.

6' Amelia Single Rail Bridge

A good quality kit bridge. I ordered it with sealer - good job - all parts well sealed. I ordered stainless steel hardware - the preassembled posts came with regular hardware, so I had to order extra ss screws to change out. I suggest that decking pieces numbered 2 and 13 be cut with a bevel so that they fit tight to the posts on the lower side.

Gorgeous Bridge

This product actually exceeded my expectations. With 5/4x6 Premium decking for the "boards" (net 1" thick) and arched joists that appear to have been cut from C&Btr 2x10's, I appreciate the quality.

Great Bridge

I loved this project, all the pieces were there, pre-marked and drilled with easy to follow instructions. What impressed me the most was that the Trusses were already put together cutting down the work time a lot. My wife and I were able to get the bridge built in 2 days. We made a hole in each top piece of hand rails and inserted solar lights which made it look fabulous at night.

Great new garden addition

Our new 8 foot red cedar camelot bridge is lovely. It went together easily and feels solid when we walk over it. A "clear" wood sealer turned it disappointingly orange, but water will turn natural cedar the same color. It should weather and soften.

12 foot treated pine bridge no rails

The bridge arrived preassembled. The delivery truck had a lift gate which made unloading simple. I also have a small tractor. It was packaged well because it made it 1500 miles cross country unblemished. I picked the bridge up with the tractor (nylon straps), hauled it into the woods, set it down, DONE!

There was a small additional packaging fee for preassembled unit. It was well worth it for me. Do it yourselfers would probably like the small project.

Delightful experience!

And it was easy for two people to lift and carry to its installation location. About a morning's worth of work was required to dig out and level a foundation for it. We like it a lot.

Nice bridge but with an error in the color

The bridge components arrived safely on Monday, March 25, and a carpenter assembled the bridge without difficulty on Tuesday. The only problem was that color of the highwood wrap on the long beams was incorrect. We learned from a service rep at the company that the acorn (brown)and toffee (yellow) colors on the website had been reversed. We have asked the company for a refund of some of the purchase price to compensate for the error.

Bridge does the job with rough wood

We live in a pueblo-style home in Northern New Mexico, with (mostly dry) artificial stream beds to carry water from our canales (pictured). We've had the bridge for a couple of weeks now. It works well and shows no signs of weathering. I wanted to stain it the same color as our vigas, but the wood was so rough that it would require lots of sanding. So we'll keep it as is and see how it weathers, at least for now. If we like how it looks as time goes on, we'll probably buy another.

Super simply to put together, really light weight wood, great quality(however one slat did slinter-we just flipped it over and used the other side...problem solved!), sturdy and durable for everyday walking, the only thing I wish is that it came pre-water treated. Four foot Crescent Moon Plank Bridge

When making catalog purchases the most important thing is to get a realistic sense of the quality of the product. This bridge does not disappoint. The cedar lumber is very solid and the support members are sturdy.The bridge was easy to assemble. We bought the optional stainless hardware and had the bridge stained before shipping. Carefully leveling six paving stones to serve as footings, covering the ground under the bridge with dark colored plastic to stop plant growth, assembling the bridge (cordless drill the only tool required) and placing it all took barely three hours.We are delighted with the quality and appearance, and the way it dresses up our back yard garden.

Beautiful Bridge But...

The bridge was well-packaged, arrived in a timely fashion, is made of quality cedar, and once assembled, looks beautiful. Unfortunately, the five foot bridge that was purchased came with instructions for the six foot or longer bridge. This made construction challenging because the instructions referred to packaging and assembly steps that were not possible to follow when constructing the smaller bridge. Therefore, improvising had to be done and the instructions had to be scraped. That said, as you can see, the end result was worth a bit small of aggravation.

The bridge was just as described. The instructions were complete, the hardware was all there [and good stuff, too]. Although the construction took a little longer than suggested, it's been a while since I've done any assembly like this. The end result is quite attractive.

Exactly What I Wanted

I am very pleased with this bridge. I stained it myself prior to assembly and the wood took the stain beautifully. Assembly was simple and the instructions were clear. It is sturdy and well made. I bought this bridge for it's proportions and because I needed one that could be walked on. Great design, easy to assemble, [...] I'm always skeptical of purchasing online from new businesses, but I couldn't be more pleased with the product and the customer service. If the price is within your range and my experience is representative of their practice, you will be happy with the purchase.One assembly note, the instructions don't place enough emphasis on laying out the surface boards before screwing any in place. The end boards can only overhang the beams 1-2" and still have the predrilled holes hit the beams. If you want equal overhang on the ends, carefully lay the boards out before screwing any down.

Going over a drainage ditch in front yar

In unpacking we did notice one board was ro show a rotting affect. When having it put together we did ask that piece be put underneath. The handyman did not feel it would affect the wear. It is really beautiful and is in the front.

Nice addition to yard & pond

Looks great over the narrow part of our pond.I'd recommend with the following warnings:1. Boards are nailed, not screwed. Shiny nail heads exposed. 2. Boards ends are not all squared at the ends - many were splintered on topside of ends. Since nailed in, could not flip the boards.3. Be aware that the unit comes with a warming that the max load weight is 300 pounds. While that may be true, have not had the guts to test it yet. First few times you use it, expect some serious creaking that will be rather unsettling if not expected. I'm 200 pounds and have noticed that some of the boards have more "sag" than others - and the "bounce" of others is a warning that they are being strained. Kuddos for the rougher finish of the boards - once we sealed it, it was clearly a great idea we were cursing while sealing it (harder to do when surface is rough) as it provides a non-slip surface.My suggestions to manufacturer: Screws instead of nails, add a third support to the center of the unit - not only would it stop the bouncing and creaks, it would probably be able to handle the claimed max weight without damage. Better quality inspection would eliminate splintered top side of board ends. Note: the support spans were nicely finished!Would I buy from them again - more than likely!

Easier than building from scratch

The predrilled holes didn't exactly match up between the beams and the braces so it took a lot of muscle to get the bolts through. Also, some holes were not drilled all the way through.

WOW BETTER THAN I IMAGINED

Charge up the impact driver...

My 8' bridge with two rails and 1/2 picket was fairly easy to assemble but took several hours to complete because of all the screws involved. I would recommend that you charge your impact driver prior to starting the construction process. Everything fit together as expected and looks really good and the bridge appears solidly built. I am using it as a bridge over a Koi pond in my backyard. Red cedar is a really soft wood so I hope it does not show excessive dents from normal wear and tear. It has only been up for a few days so I cannot accurately comment on this other than mentioning the one or two times my driver slipped off a screw head, it left a noticable indention in the wood. Overall, I am very pleased and would purchase from this site again.

Bridge over rock river

We have a three and half foot separation between the pool deck and the patio deck which is filled with river rock and flowering plants. The length of the bridge is from edge to edge and the span listed is from inside the footing to inside of the other footing. We chose this span because the footing rests about half way on the two decks yet, does not overwhelm either side. Putting it together was a breeze with a screwgun or a drill. You could probably do it with a screwdriver, but i"m not into labor, especially when i"m drinkin' beer on a sunny afternoon. It holds an ample amount of weight and never even quivered when some of my heavier friends were over. The surfaces are smooth and splinter free. Nobody here has a problem walking on it barefoot. The only hard part was figuring how far to space the half pickets. It's not marked on the rails so you have to think this part through. Measure post to post, deduct the total width of all the pickets, and divide by the number of spaces (number of pickets plus one). I did use a 6 inch level to make sure they weren't crooked. All in all, this is a very good product and adds an element of charm to the yard. It arrived well packed and protected. I would heartily recommend this product.

Great bridge for a water feature

My Neighborhood Likes My Bridge

The small 4' bridge that I purchased spans a small drainage channel around my townhouse. It is located on common property but provides access from my back door to the sidewalk that parallels the street. Many folks walk in the neighborhood and see the bridge as they are no more than 5 to 6 feet from it as they pass by. It replaced two 2x6 boards that the contractor left after completing the development.

Bridge for my creek

Nice and Easy

[...] Good quality. It was ready to use out of the box, but I put on some left-over deck sealer (Australian Timber Oil) for additional protection from the weather. It's been on the ground as part of a foot path, sitting on a base of gravel and stone dust, for about 18 months. I haven't noticed any decay so far. I would buy this product again

I bought this product when another bridge had completely rotted away. It came quickly after I ordered it. I liked that I could get the individual pieces stained prior to delivery and assembly. I was able to assemble this bridge by myself in about 1/2 hour with only an electric screwdriver. I have gotten several compliments from neighbors on its attractiveness!

"Solid footing"

The product is well made, though a bit difficult to assemble. Instructions could be improved. Order entry was very pleasant, however, when I called for guidance on the assembly, I was treated a bit rudely,like an annoyance rather than a customer. That part of the buying experience did not match the product.

Perfect small bridge

I have an area on a pathway that gets quite soggy during certain times of the year. All I needed was a small bridge to keep our feet dry. This small cedar bridge is perfect! It blends in well with the natural surroundings.All I had to do was pull it out of the box and put it in place!Thank you.

Youth Group builds a bridge

Our bridge spans a seasonal creek on our property. It is both decorative and useful. The youth group (12-15 year olds) planned and assembled the bridge as a project. They did a good deal of preparation of the footings including quarrying gravel, hauling rock and leveling it all out for the bridge footings. The boys had a wonderful time. We invited their parents and siblings to view the finished product at the end of the day. The bridge was so well built and planned that it made the project flow easily to the satisfaction of all. Thank you for a fine product. Nine months later it still looks new.

"It's Just What I Wanted"

This bridge is just what I wanted. It looks great (goes over a ditch in my front yard - surrounded by flowers - people are welcome to wander across the bridge and continue on to my path to the house). The bridge feels sturdy - construction was clever - easy enough for me (a single female) to assemble, yet I feel confident that any large adult is safe on this bridge.

I like my bridge!

We use this little bridge to fill a gap between our pathway and the street, over a drainage ditch. I can't even count the compliments and comments that we've had about it. I just love it. It fits our over all "curb appeal" idea. We did have to stain it again for a deeper, richer color but that was our choice. We use it daily and have for just over a year now and are completely thrilled with it.

Great Bridge!

We remodeled our pool and wanted to replace the railroad ties that served as a bridge to the pool. I looked all over the internet and this bridge was the best in every way-price, service and quality! Easy to order and easy to assemble. Only drawback is that they didn't offer it in the stain color I wanted. We stained it ourselves then put it together. We've had lots of compliments on it and it has held up well to all the traffic on it.

Red Cedar Crescent Moon Plank Bridge
