Quality product

stainless steel screws?

we love the table and would recommend it to anyone...that said however, installing the screws was a drag. We ordered the upgrade to stainless steel and paid for them, only to find that Driving screws in stripped them quite easily. I've used stainless before with no trouble, so I'm assuming I received non-stainless by mistake....don't know what else to think. And if I ever have to take it apart to move it, I don't know how I'd do it.

This is truly a beautiful table

I love this picnic table. It is quite sturdy without looking heavy...also looks updated and modernized without being gimmicky or trendy. Simply put, it's a great design. Looking forward to a lifetime of outdoor dining on it.

Beautiful Picnic Table!

It is just as pictured here. Not quite as easy to assemble as suggested. My husband had to go purchase a special tool to screw in some of the hardware, and step #3 on the instructions is not well written.

This was a birthday gift and actually arrived on my birthday! The delivery was seamless, and the driver happily accommodated our request to unload in the narrow back alley behind our home.

Craftsmanship and Excellent Service

The Red Cedar Octagon Walk-In Picnic Table is the perfect solution for our community. The walk-in feature is the best as there is no need to "climb" in and out of it - just step around the seat and sit - very convenient for those who don't get around as well anymore.Socially everyone faces in so everyone can see who is speaking etc - better than any bench style tables - turns a picnic bench into a game table as well. Super!

Great Table

[...] wish that there were a list of contents within the boxes (didn't find the square-head attachment for the power screwdriver in the bag until after stripping a few screws with a phillips head), this was pretty easy to assemble. Took a bit longer than the 40 minutes listed on the instructions, but not so much longer as to be annoying. The final assembled product is wonderful and my wife and I are very happy with the purchase and look forward to using it for many, many years.

An excellent replacement

We had a similarly designed table made of fir that finally gave up the ghost after a number of years.The replacement from the Cedar Store was better designed, constructed and prepped for finish - edges and corners are rounded over and appropriately smooth for something that will sit outdoors. The cedar is pretty good - not perfectly clear but red cedar rarely is. There are certainly no pieces that look to be anything less than good quality.The price might seem high, but if you look at what the raw lumber would cost, this is a pretty good bargain. It's a great design that allows 8 adults to gather around with plenty of elbow room and that's about as good as table like this gets.

Artistic and functional

Your written assembly instructions need to be a little more descriptive. For example, there were several lengths to the screws. We had to guess which ones to use first. The directions just said screw it in and I was looking at a pile of different screws. (Of course, I used the wrong length first and had to back them all out and start over). Yes, I figured it out, but why make me guess? Also, It would have been nice to know that the pieces with pre-drilled holes do not match other pieces with corresponding pre-drilled holes (you just screw it into the other piece without a pre-drill). We had to ponder this a while to make sure we were doing it right or we were thinking you forgot to pre-drill the receiving piece. Also, regarding design, it is very, very clever. However, there was one problem. In order to use a power drill and screw the legs onto the bottom of the bench seats (using you predrilled holes), I had to remove the factory installed piece of wood that holds all the bench seat pieces tightly together (and put the support wood back on afterwards). This was the only way I could get access to screw in the screw. Not major points, but it did slow us down and it did leave us thinking that the design was not perfect (it was only a 99 out of 100!). Lastly, I forget the time you said it would take to build it, but I believe you were way off. It took me several hours total, and I am pretty good with construction. It took me your estimated "time to build" time just to open the boxes, lay everything our and read through the instructions and get my bearings. It was another hour to actually build it. If I had to build another one now, I could probably do it in your time frame. So I think to be fair your "time to build" should reflect a new customers time, and not your craftsman time who can assembly these in their sleep. [...]Bottom line: I love the product. Very clever design. I would difinetly buy anther one.

Top quality fair price

Love this table. Seats 8 comfortably. Easy to get in and out of. Well made. I expect that this table will last for years to come. I thought it was expensive but compared to others I've seen, you get what you pay for and this table is worth it.

A REALLY nice table!!

Well, it's a LOT of money for a picnic table!! However, during each party I have had this past Summer, this table gets used first! VERY well made...and it should be....VERY easy to get into and out of. I wish that I could afford two more of these....hurmph!
